Terapia de Flutuação
A Terapia de Flutuação é algo novo no Brasil. Entretanto, já tem sua idéia desenvolvida desde o princípio dos anos 50. Os especialistas em neurofisiologia acreditavam que privando o cérebro de quase todos os estímulos físicos, este adormecia. Por essa época, o Dr. John C. Lilly, neurofisiologista e psicanalista, interessado na origem da atividade consciente do cérebro, se propôs a investigar sobre estas hipóteses enquanto trabalhava a cargo da armada “National Institute of Mental Health” de Bethesda, Maryland.
Para conseguir as condições experimentais que lhe permitiriam registrar o estado cerebral desejado era necessário suprimir a estimulação sensorial a um nível mínimo. Para isso desenvolveu o que hoje se conhece por tanque de flutuação: um ambiente livre de estímulos que se aproximou ao máximo possível deste ideal. No tanque ele podia relaxar a mente, entretanto, a consciência estava ativa. Descobriu que sem a presença de estímulos externos começou a responder a estímulos desconhecidos gerando uma nova realidade. O ambiente conduzia a uma liberação da psique de sua dependência física, produzindo uma sensação ou estado semelhante ao da meditação. Este fato, junto à normal realização física e psíquica provocada pelas características desse experimento, fazia com que ao seu término o usuário se sentisse relaxado, tranqüilo e com uma força interior maior que a conseguida com outras técnicas de relaxamento.
Seus efeitos foram investigados e documentados em Stanford, Harvard, Yale, assim como em outras inúmeras universidades, hospitais e instalações de treinamento esportivo por todo o mundo. Durante os últimos vinte anos foram estudados tais efeitos sistematicamente, aplicando-se na área da saúde, medicina, treinamento físico, educação e outras.
A desestimulação súbita de grandes áreas do sistema nervoso dispara uma reação em cadeia espontânea para todo o corpo, conhecida como resposta parassimpática. A tensão muscular, a pressão sanguínea, o ritmo cardíaco e o consumo de oxigênio baixam. A química inteira do corpo muda: os vasos sanguíneos se dilatam, melhorando a eficácia cardiovascular e aumentando o suporte de oxigênio e nutrientes a cada célula do corpo. Isso se conhece por efeito vasodilatador, sendo por isso recomendado durante tratamentos anticelulíticos, de redução de medidas e estéticos em geral, por promover uma drenagem linfática natural. As endorfinas que são literalmente a essência do prazer, são liberadas ao flutuar e criam sensações intensas de bem estar. Aliviam a fadiga e as dores crônicas e melhoram muitas das funções do cérebro, como a memória e a aprendizagem.
Durante a flutuação, as toxinas relacionadas com a tensão são eliminadas da corrente sanguínea e substituídas por endorfinas benéficas. Sabe-se que níveis altos de cortisol e ACTH debilitam o sistema imunológico do corpo e criam sentimentos de depressão, enquanto os níveis baixos estão associados a sentimentos de domínio e confiança. Essas mudanças bioquímicas ocorrem de maneira natural e espontânea, como produtos secundários da relação sensorial profunda. Não requer treinamento e técnicas especiais: a pessoa simplesmente se deita e permite que se suceda.
As pessoas que levam estilos de vida exigentes correm o risco de desenvolver hipertensão. Essa enfermidade manifesta-se amplamente em forma de derrames cerebrais, ataques cardíacos e arteriosclerose. A flutuação pode produzir uma redução da pressão sangüínea e ritmo cardíaco e flutuar regularmente pode ajudar a ter uma boa saúde.
